Dog Figurine – Commonly Asked Questions On Dog Figurines

March 14th, 2010 · No Comments

If you have a handful of questions about dog figurines, I have composed the following list of 6 frequently asked questions and answers in order to lend a hand. Here ya go:

How hard is it to clean and take care of a dog figurine collection?
When cleaning and taking care of any collection, it is of great importance not to rush. Most dog figurine collections require simply wiping with a brush. If you have dog figurines that have hair or fake hair, all you need to do is take a small fine tooth hair comb and gently brush the fibers.

What is a well-known breed purchased in dog figurines?
With well over 150 different breeds of dogs, there is just a list of 20 top collected dog figurines. These are the following: Black Labrador, Retriever, GSD, Beagle, Dachs, Yorkshire Terrier, Boxer, Poodle, Chihuahua, Shih Tzu, Miniature Schnauzer, Pomeranian, Rottie, Pug, Cocker Spaniel, Shetland Sheepdog, Boston Terrier, Bulldog, Pinscher, and lastly the Maltese.

I observed many dog figurines have what may seem to be genuine fur, is this authentic?
The reply to this matter is yes and no. In case your dog figurine has what seems to be fur, it would actually be goat hair, or man made hair that resembles genuine hair.

Is there a certain brand I need to look for when buying a dog figurine?
The answer to this inquiry would be based upon the person. Some people want a dog figurine distributed by the Danbury Mint. However other people buy dog figurines crafted by individual artists for unique pieces.

Where can I get dog figurines?
You can buy dog figurines just about anywhere souvenirs are available for sale. A lot of shopping malls, establishments, and web stores have beautiful dog figurines for sale.

Where can I obtain additional info on dog figurines?
Good sites are nearly impossible to come across.  Currently, there is one resource that I do suggest, though. That is the dog figurine forum at http://dog-figurine.bidandblog.com .  It’s one of the only free of charge sites that offers user-posted information to practically every dog figurine question that you can imagine.  In addition to a ton of faqs, Bid and blog’s forum also offers live auctions for dog figurines; a free dog figurine instant message alert service; and a free auto-bidding tool.  The fact is, if you cannot get hold of the answer to your question there, it typically doesn’t exist.
